This trekking route is the one that crosses Kungti Pass, at an awesome altitude of 5,040m. From Hadsar, an hour by bus from Bharmour, the path follows the River Budhil for 12-km to Kugti, known for fine Yak milk and curds.
Duration: 13 nights/14 days
Destination: Delhi-Dalhousie-Khajjiar-Chamba-Bharmour- Hadsar-Kugti-Duggi-Alyas-Khardu-Shansha-Keylong-Manali-Delhi
Day 1: Delhi
On arrival at Delhi, later transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Delhi-Dalhousie
Early morning drive to Dalhousie. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Dalhousie-Khajjiar
Next morning by car/walk either via Kalatop or through thick forests and wild life sanctuary reaches Khajjiar.
Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 4: Khajjiar-Chamba
Walk down to Chamba enjoying a good view of distant mountains and Ravi valley.
Overnight Chamba.
Day 5: Chamba-Bharmour
Next day visit the base camp situated at 2195 m. Also visit old temples and other buildings of old capital of Chamba.
Overnight camp.
Day 6: Bharmour-Hadsar
Walk along this route with terra up and down through forests.
Overnight in tents.
Day 7: Hadsar-Kugti
Follow this route of trekking along the Budhil stream with many ups and downs through green forests.
Day 8: Kugti-Duggi Caves
Today visit Duggi caves, amidst the green valley and panoramic view. The famous Kailash peak is also visible from here.
Overnight camp.
Day 9: Duggi-Alyas
This 12 km trekking route is a tough one. At Kudi watch the big grassy plateau and stone huts.
Day 10: Alyas-Khardu
This route is full of ups and downs, a steep ascent to pass and then steep descent after the Pass.
Overnight in tents.
Day 11: Khardu-Shansha
A rough trek route over stones and loose boulders.
Overnight in tents.
Day 12: Shansha-Keylong
Way back to Keylong by car, enroute visiting Kardang Monastery.
Overnight at Keylong.
Day 13: Keylong-Manali
Return back to Manali and thereafter leave for New Delhi.
Day 14: Delhi
Take rest and later catch your flight towards the onward destination.
