This area of Himalayas offers everything to all the mountaineers, the trekkers, the naturalist, and the photographers. The Garhwal Himalayas have attracted mountaineers from all over the world, to attempt and scale the mighty peaks in this region. A Garhwal trekking tour in this area, combined with visits to the holy temples of Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath and Yamunotri, will add spiritual experience of the Himalayas as you watch the stream of people bathing and lining up in front of the temples to have a view of holy shrine, and to wash away, the sins of a lifetime.
The Garhwal is one of the frequently visited areas in the Himalayas. It lies between the Punjab to the West and the Nepal Himalayas to the East. It has divided its treks in two parts viz. Summers (April to Oct. - trekking up to 4.628 M) and Winters (Nov. to March - trekking up to 2.500m).

Nanda Devi Trek
Nanda Devi is one of the fascinating peaks of India. A classic trek that retraces the pioneering steps of Shipton and Tilman through the Garhwal Himalayas. The Nanda Devi basin must surely be one of the most legendary regions in the entire Himalayas chain. The mountain itself has attracted the attention of the pioneering mountaineers, explorers, and travelers who have visited this area.
This trek takes us across the picturesque meadows and valleys that border the western edge of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. During the trek there are many views of the surrounding peaks and the Kuari Pass (3658m) itself has an unrivalled panorama of the Great Himalayas peaks including Nanda Devi (7816m), Changabang (6864m), Dunagiri (7066m) and Kamet (7756m).

Day 1: Delhi
On arrival at Delhi, later transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Delhi-Haridwar-Rishikesh
Early morning drive to Haridwar, holy town on the banks of river Ganges. Later visit Rishikesh.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Rishikesh-Devprayag
Early morning drive towards Devprayag, a place where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet.
Overnight camp.
Day 4: Devprayag-Mundoli
Move on your journey to the hearts of the Garhwal foothills, past Rudraprayag and onwards up to the Pindar valley.
Overnight camp at Mundoli.
Day 5: Mundoli
Early morning start your trek through Rhododendron forest, hand tilled fields, and small villages.
Overnight camp.
Day 6: Mundoli-Nanda Ghunti
Toady take on a long climb to the magnificient bugyal or grazing meadow of Bedni. Also view the Trisul (7120m) and Nanda Ghunti (6390m). A tough day of steep ascent and descent.

Day 7: Nanda Ghunti-Kanol
Toady continues your trek through Rolling Meadows that gives the most wonderful display of color in spring. This trail is good and scenery magnificient.

Day 8: Kanol
Early morning move on to long decent to the Nandakini river. A welcome paddle in the clear water to sooth our feet whilst the porters. A long half day.

Day 9: Kanol-Nandakini Valley
Today start your day by trekking up and out of the Nandakini valley, a tough but rewarding climb along good trails. Birds of prey such as Lammergeyer, Golden Eagle and Himalayan Griffon are common in this area. The day's efforts are well worth it as we camp in peaceful and wonderfully flat meadow for the night.

Day 10: Nandakini Valley-Nanda Devi
A day traversing one of the main valleys that radiate out from the Inner Sanctuary of Nanda Devi. A steep descent takes us to our interesting campsite above the gorge of the Bharagithi.

Day 11: Nanda Devi-Kauri Pass
Today we cross the river and later climb steeply to a level trail that takes us to our next campground, in sight of the Kuari Pass.

Day 12: Kauri Pass
An easier day as we make camp at Dhakwani near the base of Kauri Pass.

Day 13: Kauri Pass
Today make a pre-dawn start for the pass to gain the best views. Follow the zigzag path to the top of the pass (3658m). Here view a stunning panorama of snow covered 6000m and 7000m, peaks stretches as far as eye can see. After savoring this moment, we descend to a sheltered grazing meadow to watch the peaks fade into the twilight.

Day 14: Kuari Pass-Tapovan
Today descend further towards the Alaknanda valley and the small settlement of Tapovan, later drive back to Joshimath.

Day 15: Tapovan-Devprayag
Drive back to Devprayag following the river Alaknanda valley .
Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 16: Devprayag-Haridwar-Delhi
Continue your journey to Delhi via Haridwar.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 17: Delhi
Depart Delhi and catch your flight towards your destination.
